Frequently Asked Questions
Is it secure?
Yes. Please note that the security of course depends on the strength of your chosen password, so don't use a real word, a name or an otherwise easy to guess password to protect Secrets. The first time you start Secrets, you have to choose an initial password that is used to encrypt all your entries. This password is not stored anywhere. It's only in your head. Whenever you want to access your entries in Secrets, you have to enter this password and it is used as key to decrypt and encrypt the data. If the password is lost, there is technically no chance to decrypt the information. There are no backdoors. Security is the most important point of Secrets mobile. When using iCloud to synchronize between devices your data is kept and stored encrypted all along the line, of course.
Can I change my initial chosen password later?
Yes. To do so, open Secrets mobile, enter your password and then tap the gear icon at the bottom to open the preferences. There you'll find a button “Change Password”.
Are there any limits how much content Secrets can hold?
No. It's only limited by the capacity of your device. We spent a lot of work to make Secrets scale very well. We tested it with unrealistically large content without running into problems.
Can I sync my entries to the Computer?
We are working on a solution for the Mac. Currently Secrets is available as mobile version only. Please understand that we can not promise anything at this time. But now that we have a working synchronization over iCloud we made a big step forward.
